LifeCare Hospitals of North Texas have implemented safeguards and measures to keep patients and employees safe during this evolving crisis. With the media reports regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19) changing every day, it is understandable for employees, patients, families, and significant others to feel overwhelmed and anxious.
We have been monitoring the global and national health crisis daily and are participating and conferring with the local and state health departments, as well as with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We are also working in collaboration with other health systems throughout the DFW Metroplex to help control the spread of COVID-19 and to protect the health of our communities, patients, their loved ones, and our staff. LifeCare Hospitals of North Texas leadership holds daily briefing calls with members of our healthcare teams throughout the LifeCare system focused on our emergency preparedness in response to COVID-19.
Our hospitals have implemented screening protocols for employees, contracted vendors, and anyone who enters our hospitals based on the CDC's recommendations. We are monitoring supplies including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) closely and have protocols in place to protect our staff and patients who may be at risk for COVID-19 while continuing to provide the exceptional care the community has come to expect.
To ensure the safety of your loved ones and the healthcare providers who serve them, we have implemented no visitation at this time. Our team will work with facilities and friends to promote virtual visitation through phone calls and video conferencing. Exceptions to the visitation policy will be made for end of life or other special circumstances.
Together, we can reduce the risk of exposure to the virus and help you and your families remain healthy and safe. One of the best ways to protect yourself is to wash your hands frequently and avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth as well as social distancing.
LifeCare Hospitals of North Texas will continue to be here for our communities and those we serve. Together we can help slow down and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
